Fine-particle/ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene

MIPELON is an Ultra-high Molecular Weight Polyethylene fine powder with a very small particle size: 25 to 30 microns. Mipelon gives improved lubrication, abrasion resistance, impact strength, and chemical resistance when add to various resins and rubbers.

Summary

MIPELON is ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene in the form of fine powder developed by Mitsui Chemicals. While the average particle size of conventional ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene powder is 150 to 200 μm, MIPELON can be successfully reduced to fine particles having an average particle size of 25 to 30 μm with our special polymerization technique, and retaining its high molecular weight.

The addition of MIPELON to various resins, rubber, greases, and coating materials results in improved self-lubrication, abrasion resistance and chemical resistance because of the characteristics of ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene. Good dispersion property of MIPELON results in exceptional mechanical properties.
